Pridefest 2016

Festival season is here! And what makes Milwaukee’s festival season so special comes from the unique makeup of events that promote community building and, of course, a great time that’s hard to beat!

PrideFest kicks things off June 7th through the 10th, 2018 and this year’s festival is sure to be the perfect celebration to get the season started right.

This Year’s Entertainment

This year is no different! The internationally-praised electronic duo, Cash Cash, will hit the stage on Thursday, June 7th bringing her unique brand of dance-pop to the Miller Lite Mainstage, while “The World’s Greatest Party Band,” The B-52s make a noteworthy appearance on Sunday, June 10th. Other headliners include Grammy Award-winning breakout star Daya, performing Friday, June 8th, and alt-R&B star Jojo, performing Saturday, June 9th!

Make your way to the Wom!nz Spot Lounge and Cafe for a variety of lessons, dance performances, and discussions about LGBT issues. There’s everything from a lesson in tai chi and instruction in ballroom dancing to community stories about those overcoming adversity and performances from a number of talented dance groups.

You can check out this year’s full lineup of entertainment at the PrideFest website here.

And don’t forget about the Milwaukee Pride Parade happening Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at 2pm! The Parade, which operates independently of PrideFest, runs through Walker’s Point, the home base of Saz’s Catering and one of Milwaukee’s most diverse and vibrant neighborhoods. This yearly event celebrates LGBT pride for the citizens of Southeastern Wisconsin.

The Mission of Milwaukee Pride

PrideFest has become one of the largest LGBT festivals in the country and since its start in 1987, continues to grow in attendance from year to year, and for good reason. Many of PrideFest’s accomplishments are in huge part because of the mission of Milwaukee Pride, the nonprofit who produces and runs the whole show, as well as from the volunteers that donate their time to ensure that the whole shebang runs smoothly.

It’s all about educating and addressing the needs of the LGBT community, as well as providing a forum that celebrates the rich history and accomplishments of LGBT people.

Henry Maier Festival Park provides the perfect backdrop to make this happen. With everything from live music and comedy to inspiring lectures and dance lessons, it’s hard to beat the level of fun, excitement and satisfaction PrideFest provides for all to enjoy.

Summer with Saz’s

We’re proud to be a part of all of the fun, offering the #TasteOfSummer on the Summerfest grounds since 2007! It’s an opportunity that allows us to be a part of a wonderful and thriving community, as well offer some festival favorites while we’re at it. Here’s to an amazing season ahead!
