Join us for a Lenten Fish Fry Every Wednesday and Friday!
There are a few things Milwaukeeans take very seriously; the Packers, the Bucks, the Brewers, beer, and fish fries. If you grew up going to supper clubs or pubs with your family, eating meat on Fridays was a big “no no,” or you have an unhealthy obsession with potato pancakes and coleslaw, boy are we glad that you found us at Saz’s State House. We’ve been serving up delicious Lenten Fish Fries, a cherished and ubiquitous Wisconsin tradition, since 1976!
Wishing for a Fish Fry on more than just Fridays? We feel you. That’s why Saz’s State House will be serving up our Lenten Fish Fry every Wednesday and Friday during Lent (February 14, 2024 – March 28, 2024).
Come in and enjoy our Tavern Famous Fish Fry which includes three pieces of Miller High Life beer battered cod or baked cod with lemon butter, rye bread, house coleslaw, choice of sour cream & chive fries or potato pancakes. Our full menu is still available on these days, but we doubt you’ll want to look at anything else after seeing these photos of our Fish Fries.
Join us for Ash Wednesday on February 14
If you plan on celebrating Ash Wednesday this year on February 14, then we invite you to come and dine with us afterwards with a delicious fish fry to kick off the Lenten Season.
If you want to kill two birds with one stone and celebrate both Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day with your sweetie, we have a special Valentine’s Day menu for you to take a look at as well. We personally think that the Heart Shaped Pretzel or Strawberry Cream Puff would be excellent dishes to share (or not- you do you.)
Still Not Convinced?
“Had the fish fry with potato pancakes. Outstanding! The fish was fried fluffy with a crispy crust. Not over cooked. Same with the potato pancakes. It was one of those times you wanted to eat more but couldn’t because there wasn’t enough room.” – Mary S.
“OMG! The fish fry is awesome! And they have potato pancakes. I love a place that offers potato pancakes! With your choice of syrup or applesauce. I was raised on them with applesauce. Soooo good!” – Cindy
“Fish was excellent and generous 3 pieces. Potato pancakes were crispy good. So were fries. Cole slaw was smooth and creamy.” – Janet F.
