We’re loving this year’s Wisconsin State Fair, including all the of love that people show towards our festival favorite, the Saz’s Sampler Platter. Recently, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Rachel Bernhard wrote a fantastic piece titled, “An Ode to the Saz’s Sampler Platter,” and we were blushing over all the things she had to say about our “summer festival icon.”
No matter what festival you’re at, many festival-goers often find themselves at a Saz’s stand. Have you ever wondered why? Rachel seems to have the answer:
Oh, those squishy, squeaky golden curds! Oh, those crispy sour cream and chive fries! Oh, those wonton-wrapped, deep-fried mozzarella sticks! The smattering of sweet red marinara! The tangy sour cream and chive sauce!
As if that isn’t enough to get your taste buds salivating, then buckle your seat belts. Rachel walked us through the emotional experience of trying to make a way through the festivals crowds with the platter still in tact to enjoy the cheesy goodness while it was still hot of the fryers. We know the Saz’s cravings run deep, and life just seems little less bright without your festival favorite fix. As she puts it perfectly, “Eventually, all festival paths lead back to Saz’s Sampler Platter.” Don’t just take our word for it – read Rachel’s full article here.
