Klement’s Famous Racing Sausage Corn Dog by Saz’s Bavarian Haus on State Fair grounds has been selected as one of eight finalists for the 4th annual 2016 Sporkies! The annual food competition takes place every year during the Wisconsin State Fair and celebrates everything from the unique to the unusual in fair food. We think you can be both and still create something completely delicious. As one of nearly three dozen who entered, we were chosen for our take on the classic corn dog – Klement’s Famous Racing Sausage Corn Dog. We’re proud of this creation — the brain child of DudeFoods.com — and we’re glad the judging committee loved it, too!
Four celebrity judges and one lucky fairgoer will decide the top three winners for the Golden Spork Award on August 10th at the Bank Mutual Amphitheater. Judges include former Green Bay Packer, Super Bowl Champion and creator of the “Lambeau Leap”, Leroy Butler, and Anson Williams, “Potsie” from Happy Days and co-star of the Happy Days Live Tour. Get more info about how you can join the judges panel here and for the full list of celebrity judges, click here. Fairgoers will also have the opportunity to sample all of the finalist’s creations throughout the Fair and vote for their favorite through social media on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #FairGoersFave. Judging for fairgoers will be open from August 4th through August 9th, with the winner announced on August 10th. Last year, Saz’s Ribs, also on the State Fair grounds, was proud to offer the Deep Fried Pretzel Crusted Brownie-on-a-Stick, voted #FairGoersFave, earning us the title two years running! Suffice to say, we’re going for a third title.
